Need people for Rob Little a.m. sessions
I'm going to do it! I'm going to pry my ass out of bed and FINALLY GO.
Can I get some other folks to join in? If it's only me, the clinic is off. Please? Pretty please with sugar and a cherry on top?
Rob Little is a fantastic coach. I was at a session tonight and just reminded AGAIN of his genius at breaking something into component parts and explaining it. I'm planning on starting with this Thursday, May 28, for a skating session.
The sessions are at Breck Anderson Arena on Olson Memorial Highway, from 6.15 to 7 (and sometimes later). The cost of each session is $30 and should be paid in cash at the session. No cancellations and no-shows will still be charged.
To reserve a spot, email Rob at RobDLittle@comcast.net and specify the date(s) you wish to reserve a spot for. Feel free to include the areas you most want to work on in the session. Full equipment is required.
There are multiple showers available at Breck Anderson Arena for your use. The rink doors open at 6 AM.
The small group setting REALLY allows Rob to focus on individual attention. I have heard GREAT THINGS about these clinics and it's time I got myself to one. Will you join me?
Schedule Tuesday 5/26 Shooting/Stickhandling Session Thursday 5/28 Skating Session
Monday 6/1 Speed and Agility Skating Wednesday 6/3 Skating Session Thursday 6/4 Shooting/Stickhandling Session
Tuesday 6/9 Skating Session Thursday 6/11 Shooting/Stickhandling Session

Tuesday 6/23 Shooting/Stickhandling Session Thursday 6/25 Skating Session
Monday 6/29 Shooting/Stickhandling Session Tuesday 6/30 Speed and Agility Skating
The Skating Skills sessions will be limited to 10 skaters per session. The focus will be assessing and developing skating skills and techniques for each player. Areas of instruction/practice could include: - skating posture and balance -skating power and efficiency - edge control - agility - forward skating - backward skating - crossovers - transitions - hockey turns - stopping
The Speed and Agility Skating is an over-speed training session. This is not an instructional session but is designed for players to develop a faster pace to their skating. All drills are done at an "uncomfortably fast" pace. Players may choose whether they want to carry a puck, or not , when training. This session will be a great workout in addition to developing your speed and agility.
The Shooting/Stickhandling Skills sessions will be limited to a maximum of 8 skaters per session. Assessment and skill development of each participant's shooting and puck-control skills will be the focus. Approximately half of each session will be devoted to shooting and half to stickhandling. Areas of instruction for the Shooting /Stickhandling sessions could include: - wrist shot - slap shot - snap shot - backhand shot - one-timers - accuracy and power - breakaway goalie dekes - forward and backward puckhandling - single fakes with edge work - double fakes with edge work - toe drags - attacking the triangle - puck protection - breakaway goalie dekes

I signed up today. Imagine the look on my wife's face when I told her I'm getting up at 5am on a workday to skate. I've officially drunk the koolaid.

Sweet! I wonder how many we'll have.
Working on getting nifty realtime signups for Rob, won't that be awesome?

Are you guys forced off the ice right away, or do the skates run...(long)?

Re: Need people for Rob Little a.m. sessions
Sometimes we have the ice as late as 7.20; usually, it's around 7.15 -- though of course technically it ends at 7.
