The AHA runs a beginner and an intermediate school, in addition to supporting five tiers of competitive play. I attended the beginner school in 2002. The AHA strives for parity in its tiers, and they usually succeed pretty well.
The Lifetime Hockey site contains clinic information, tells how to build a hockey tree to dry your gear, and has animated demonstrations of 12 key hockey plays.
The Twin Cities Gay Hockey Association is a great group, very supportive and friendly. Lots of hockey-related events, but for gay or gay-friendly players only.
